In Multimedia Graphic Design this semester, students are learning and using the same tools that professionals use on the job. They are getting real world experience using these programs to produce projects that are similar to assignments they might have as a graphic designer, whether working for a business, being self-employed or doing freelance work. Without these tools, students would not have a solid foundation for this profession.
By now, students have learned how to use tools in Adobe Illustrator and most students have passed an Adobe Certified Associates exam. The projects have been Pictographs, Road sign, Font work, How-to instruction manual and logos. In addition, the advanced students are operating a full production silk screen shop, and the Yearbook editor is designing pages and setting up photo assignments for the yearbook staff which meets on Wednesday after school.
