CEC’s Top Three

The CEC Middle College of Denver would like to congratulate the Top Three students of the 2013 graduating class: Sam Beard (#3), Itzamara Pinon (#2) and Daniel Barron (#1).

Dosomethingreal.com caught up with them to find out about their plans and what they will take away from their time at CEC. Here’s what they said:

Daniel Barron

Q: How does it feel to be Valedictorian?

A: I worked hard for it and it feels good to be recognized for what you do.

Q: What are your plans for next year?

A: I am going to UCD to enter the Pre-med program.

Q: What have you liked best about CEC?

A: All of the people I met. Plus the school really does prepare you for the future with career classes and the opportunity for college classes is huge.

Q: What will you miss about CEC?

A: My friends and having a sense of direction. Now it’s like we’re on our own to figure out what direction to take next.

Q: To what do you attribute your academic success?

A: Being persistent, realizing what’s important and the support of my family and sisters.

Itzamara Pinon

Q: What are your plans for next year?

A: I’m going to attend CSU to study Occupational Therapy and Education.

Q: What have you liked best about CEC?

A: I liked getting ahead with college credits and also how we’re treated as an adult, not just a high school student.

Q: What will you miss about CEC?

A: My friends and being able to hang out with them.

Q: To what do you attribute your academic success?

A: My parents

A: I’ll be attending CU Denver

Q: What have you liked best about CEC?

A: I like how the school works around your goals and what you want to do after high school. You feel like you’re really prepared for the future.

Q: What will you miss about CEC?

A: I’ll miss so much—all of the teachers, the help from Ms. Abbott and my friends.

Q: To what do you attribute your academic success?

A: My parents and the support of friends and teachers.
